Had it been so many years since he returned to that dreadful city? How long had he kept himself away, far from temptation, from his touch, from ever finding his way back…
He had struggled so long to remain away, ensure he did not give in to his hunger. Yet now, here he stood. Standing just outside of the old shop, the place where it had all began and now…ended. The once glittering neon red sign…lay on the ground in shambles, windows had been boarded up.
Even more disturbing, the front doors barred, sealed with heavy chains and what looked to be holy symbols. This place…was no longer his home. No longer would he be able to come here and see his twin.
He could step no further to the building, the holy energy surrounding the area was prickling at his devils control, lashing away, trying to dispel him. It burned far worse than being on fire.
Taking a step forward, as best as he could, he felt his cheek become singed, quickly causing him to jump back. “…He is gone.” He wondered what had become of his twin, what had happened, where he was and why he had not tried to contact him.
Pushing the queries away, he turned away, taking his leave of this place, there was nothing for him here. Why remain where there was no one to care for him?
