Perhaps she had overwhelmed him? She pulled away, if only a little, fist balling as they began to wipe away the salty tears that were previously denied. "I'm sorry--.. I missed you.." Her hands drew away from him and folded, pulling to her chest as if clutching.
Drawing her back into his embrace, he presses a soft kiss to her forehead. He would not have her blubbering over nonsense, it was done with, he was here and here was nothing taking him from her. { Be at ease.}
"I didn't think you'd come back.." Her words were muffled against the cobalt cloth of his shirt, thick lashes batting out small hints of tears before they fell.
{I had no reason to remain where I was.}
Sighing, he looked down to her, running his hand through her hair.
"..!" Arms threw themselves around his waist, face coming to bury itself into his chest. "It's really you..!"
{Why would it not be me?}
Not entirely understanding her, he returned the hug, cupping the back of her head as he let out a heavy sigh. {I’ve not reason not to be myself.}
"V-Vergil..?"
Nodding, he reached out, running his thumb along her cheek.

“Do not speak such nonsense…you know more than anyone how I feel for you. Why must I voice my emotions?” He spat out, glowering at his twin. “Such emotions are unbefitting.”
Arching a silver brow, he looked Dante over, trying to access if what he said was truth, or nothing more than another jest.
“I know. Nothing but rainbows and puppies, right?” The facade soon came to a halt as the hunter broke into a smirk, shaking his head. “You need to voice them because they would ease my soul so very much.” He was joking, sure, but he wouldn’t back down if Vergil decided to take it seriously and take him up on the ‘offer’ that he put on the table. He wasn’t one to back down from a fight, after all.
Tilting his head, he looked his twin over with disdain, or attempted to make it seem like it. This entire situation meant far more to Dante than it did to him, but there was an underlying tone, he could not place it but knew that his brother wished to push aside adult matters and embrace him. “…Speak then…how do you wish me to voice my feelings?”

“Ouch— and here I thought you liked me under that cold exterior,” he countered, a hand raising to settle over his heart. As if the words actually hurt his feelings. It was nothing new to the younger sibling but it was all for show. “Don’t be so cold, Verg~ Do I need to warm you up or something to that nature?”
